My god, this game keeps on giving. I’ve been playing for like a year and still there are nooks and crannies to explore, and since the update last September there are whole new parts of the world to travel to. I’m running it on a two-year old MacBook Air and also on my brand new iMac; so far there are no stability issues on either. The translation from mobile to computer is pretty seamless; the graphics are beautiful on my imac screen and everything else is also great.

Doesn’t Work

App currently doesn’t work. Crashes upon opening. Emailed support who says it is an appstore issue. Tried erasing and restarting with no luck.

I couldn’t tell you whether this is a good game or a bad game because it crashes on open every single time.

I read the last few reviews from a few days ago and the game works just fine on my iMac. There is a bit of reading to do in the game but that slows you down from not completing it in 4 hours.

It is an nice game and addictive at first. The game saves that it is your second or third time playing, and changes the story accordingly, but not enough. Also you almost always have enough hearts, the same goes for money, you never have to sleep on the street. Another thing is I would like to know how high my relations are with Mr. Fogg, not just that it goes up or down. Second time playing, I got bored quickly and started skipping most of the dialogue. Still I think it is a nice game and maybe it gets harder as you play, I don’t know so I thought it was easy. I really liked the thing about mechanical people and horses, it was like the time the story really takes place with a weird futuristic twist.

This isn’t a typical game. Rather, it’s more like an interactive novel. The graphics are sparse, the gameplay is easy, but these aren’t the things you should look for while playing 80 Days. You should however seek to immerse yourself in the world of imagination that this game projects, and in the agency it provides. Think of yourself reading a novel. How often are you able to both 1) become engrossed in the events and 2) feel like you are at least partially in control. This is what 80 Days gives the players. It’s not Call of Duty or Destiny. It’s not FIFA, the Witcher, and so on. It’s an indie game, but one with a rich environment and a novel (ahem) concept behind it, making this game a pleasure to play.

Not worth the money

All text. no visuals other than flat black & white cut outs. Boring. Wish I could see what it was like before buying it!

It's interesting

I thought the developers would maybe look to revise some of the collectibles or perhaps the modes of travel-- like many have stated the game can grow boring after a while.

I hope you like "reading games"

This game IS compatible with Catalina. Nice graphics, original idea, but...wow, it's really a reading game. It can be played out in about 2 hours, and the same dialogue in similar situations. Just not worth $10. Maybe I'd buy it for $2.

Still incompatible with Catalina!

Was halfway through the adventure when we updated to Catalina! and got stuck between the older version of 80 Days and the fixed version. The older version goes back into iCloud and downloads with all the shaky lines and unreliability.

Not worth $10

It’s Only text! It wasn’t that clear to me when I bought it, also if english is not your first language, don’t buy it, there are no option for other languages. I only recommend it for people who really like reading “choose ypur own adventure books”. Also, it gets pretty repetitive…

Solid

Great little game to play through in an afternoon. I’ve gone through several times now. The story has enough variety through different routes that it’s great for the replay value. Reminds me a steampunk version of the old Oregon Trail games.

Worth it, but...

This game is very good, and can make you feel genuinely stressed about the time limit. The game works by making you take “routes” around the world, but sometimes your path forces you to repeat events. For example, when crossing the Pacific, one of the few possible ways across is to take the ship; “Waterlilly”. I won`t spoil the event that happens with it, as it is very good, but it looses its suspence when you have to do the event three times over three playthroughs. The same problem arises on the “Dark Queen”, another ship that sails down the Mississippi River, a place where I almost always find myself gong to. Again, after multiple playthroughs, I know what to do, and nothing becomes a surprise. Overall, this game is still quite good. Exept for a few chokepoints at the Pacific and Atlantic areas, it provides enough variation to keep things interesting.

Worth It!!!

I’ve literally bought this game for every platform/device I own. The way I see it, this game is so engrossing, beautifully design, and wonderfully written — Inkle deserves the fullest extent of my support. I could see why this game wouldn’t be deemed as appropriate for all ages given some of the language and situations the character may encounter, however I’d play this with with younger kids so long as it’s under supervision. What an amazing way to explore the world at your fingertips than an interactive 3D world featuring such a detailed, historical-fiction environment! It’s a great way to get kids interested in history, but I’d say it’s an even better way to captivate the minds and imaginations of gamers of all ages.
